In Costa Rica there are two playa Hermosas, one near Jacó and the other Playa Hermosa in Guanacaste. Playa Hermosa and Jacó are famous for its surfing , because it has one of the best and most consistent beach breaks in the world.
It is also an important nesting site for turtles so the beach mangroves have been protected in a national wildlife refuge.
